Community
A starboard for the best moments, suggestions with votes, birthdays in every member's time zone and live server stats channels.
What community does
- Starboard: Messages with enough stars are reposted in a channel of their own, with the count kept up to date.
- Suggestions: Members post ideas with /suggest and vote with buttons. Staff approve, deny or ship them.
- Birthdays: A message and a role for the day, at a sensible hour in each member's own time zone.
- Server stats: Locked voice channels that show members, online, boosts or a member goal.
- AI in Discord: /ask, /summarize and /translate, plus Translate on any message.
- Never noisy: No @everyone pings, one birthday post a year, and votes that can't be stuffed.
Ideas, votes and a decision
Every idea gets a number, a vote count and a thread. Staff decide with a reason, and the author hears back.
- One vote per member, change it any time
- Anonymous ideas if you allow them
- Decided ones can move to their own channel
Commands
/starboard: Show the server's most starred messages (top)/suggest: Send the server an idea, anonymously if allowed/birthday: Save your birthday and see who's celebrating soon (set, remove, view, upcoming)/summarize: Get an AI catch up on what was said in this channel/translate: Translate text with AI, or right click a message and pick Apps, Translate
Questions
- Can members star their own messages?
- Not by default. You can allow it, and choose any emoji and how many stars it takes.
- What time do birthday messages go out?
- At the hour you pick, in each member's own time zone, or the server's if they didn't set one.
- How often do the stats channels update?
- Every ten minutes at most, which is as often as Discord allows a channel to be renamed.
